COLIBRÍ MUSIC

Offering a rich tapestry of song infused with diverse cultural and musical background, weaving together the sacred and the soulful, Colibri is a dedication to all the forces of nature and spirit that make life so beautiful.
Clay Burns has been singing since before he could talk. Growing up in Santiago, Chile, with American parents he was exposed to many different influences both linguistically and musically.
At home he would speak English, hear the folk music of North America and Europe, and was instilled with his father's love of classical music. Stepping out the door he was swept up in the whirl of Latin rhythms, Andean beats, and the sing-song of Chilean Spanish and became a part of that world.
What would appear to be a clash of cultures instead gave him a great appreciation for the diversity of people and languages, and the essence that is directly reflected in the music from every unique place in the world.
As a young adult, he studied music both in the US and Argentina, and graduated with a degree in voice and piano performance. His nomadic lifestyle and hunger for adventure has continued to expose him to more cultures and languages since then, which makes classifying his music into any specific genre a difficult task.
Throughout his entire trajectory, music has been a way to express the deep emotions and experiences that can only be expressed through art. Connecting with that which binds all of us together and flows through all of creation allows him to heal himself and to share that healing with others.
He hopes his song can be a prayer to celebrate the gift of life and contribute to making the world a better place.
